Featured Title of the Month
Encyclopedia of Post-Colonial Literatures in English from Routledge

Post-Colonial Literatures in English, together with English Literature and American Literature, form one of the three major groupings of literature in English, and, as such, are widely studied around the world. Their significance derives from the richness and variety of experience which they reflect. This encyclopedia documents the history and development of this body of work from A (Gemino Henson Abad) to Z (Fay Zwicky) and includes original research relating to the literatures of some 50 countries and territories. It explores the effect of the colonial and post-colonial experience on literatures in English worldwide.

This second edition of the encyclopedia includes entries on genres, major subjects and critical biographies of writers; entries on countries or regions whose literatures are examined in the encyclopedia; and 'overview' entries that provide a synoptic view of a number of important subject and genre entries.

Update on Wiley InterScience - Blackwell Journals

Dear Customer,

We would like to sincerely apologize if you are continuing to experience delays with gaining full access to your Blackwell journals on Wiley InterScience. A number of issues have been raised with us during the past week which we wish to update you on here. We are making good progress with resolving these outstanding issues as quickly as we can and are grateful for your continued patience during this transition period.

Access to subscribed journals
We are aware that some access to subscribed titles and for some IPs has not been set up correctly. If you find that your access to, for example, premium subscriptions, is not set up then please submit your request to your Account Manager or log it via the Online self-help section of our Customer Services site providing as much information as you can: interscience.wiley.com/support. We are offering 24/7 customer support during this transition period and will fix your access rights as soon as possible. Most access issues are being resolved within 48 hours of being reported. We are also working on a general fix to ensure that these premium access rights are restored as soon as possible.

OpenURL linking
Work is underway to resolve the vast majority of the OpenURL redirecting problems and we expect to have resolved these issues next week. Most journal-level and DOI-based links are redirecting to their equivalent pages on Wiley InterScience now, but OpenURLs based on volume, issue and page number parameters are not yet redirecting correctly. We are working with the major link resolver vendors and are working with them to restore these links.

Content
1.6 million Blackwell journal articles are available on Wiley InterScience now. Additional articles were uploaded over the weekend, and more are being added this week. The list of content which we are still working through is available on our transition site here: interscience.wiley.com/transition.

Athens
The initial Athens authentication problem has been fixed. If you find you are still having a problem with it please report the error via our Customer Services site.

Google Scholar
Some Google Scholar search results are not yet effectively linking to the articles on Wiley InterScience. We are working with Google to resolve this.

Training
There are Wiley InterScience user guides and self-paced e-learning tutorials available on our website here: interscience.wiley.com/tutorials. We are also running a series of free online webinars about using Wiley InterScience, including using the admin tool, over the next few weeks. To register for one of these please go to https://wiley-interscience.webex.com and click on 'Upcoming'.

For further information, please visit our transition information site: interscience.wiley.com/transition.
If you have other issues to report which are not listed here then please send them to your Account Manager or submit them via interscience.wiley.com/support.

The project to transfer Blackwell journals to Wiley InterScience has been large and complex and although we did endeavor to anticipate all the issues prior to the migration we are sorry if you and your users are experiencing errors with your access now. We are confident that we will be able to resolve these outstanding issues soon.

Sincerely,

Christopher McKenzie

Auto/Biography Content Triggers at Portico

Because your library is a participant in the Portico preservation archive, your institution now has access to Auto/Biography published by SAGE Publications via the Portico website (http://www.portico.org/Portico/browse?journal=ISSN_09675507). Auto/Biography is no longer accessible from SAGE's online offering; therefore this content is “triggered” and is now made available to Portico participants via the Portico archive. Your institution has access to Auto/Biography via Portico regardless of whether your institution has previously subscribed to this journal.

As of July 1, 2008, Portico has made digital content of Auto/Biography, Volumes 12 through 14, available to our library participants. SAGE will be digitizing volumes 1-11, and when complete, SAGE will deliver this digitized content to Portico via their regular update methods. The digitized volumes will be processed and preserved in the Portico archive and made available to all Portico participants via the Portico web site. Once again this access will be provided to all Portico library participants without regard to their prior subscription record.

Auto/Biography issues are accessible to your students, faculty and staff through the "Access Archive" link on the Portico homepage (www.portico.org) through which users can browse, print and search all triggered content. Libraries wishing to direct link resolvers should note the Stable URL below. Portico is working with CrossRef and data and linking service vendors to ensure that the Auto/Biography access information is loaded into these linking systems.

The key facts about the Auto/Biography content that has triggered and is available for use in the Portico delivery site are below:

Title: Auto/Biography
Trigger Date: July 1, 2009
ISSN: 0967-5507
e-ISSN: 1479-9715
Publisher: SAGE Publications
Holdings Information: v. 12 (no. 1-3), v. 13 (no. 1-3), v. 14 (no. 1-4)
Publication Date Range: March 2004 – December 2007
Stable URL: http://www.portico.org/Portico/browse?journal=ISSN_09675507

Problem with Blackwell Synergy Open URL linking ...

From Wiley Interscience--

OpenURL links are currently not redirecting at the journal level but instead default to the Wiley InterScience homepage. We are working on this and will have it resolved within a few days.

[This means the Find It @ USC button takes you to the Wiley homepage. You will need to search for the journal title on the left (use "publication title"), then find the volume and issue you need to get to the article]

As of Monday, June 30, 2008, Blackwell journal content—including full-text HTML and PDF versions of articles from current issues, backfiles, and issues published online before print—has been incorporated into Wiley InterScience.

We are working hard to ensure a smooth transition for all customers and users, and thank you for your patience during this time of change. We will update our institutional customers through the Wiley-Blackwell Library Newsletter (sign up now for newsletter e-mail alerts) and through this information page. If you have any additional queries please contact Wiley-Blackwell customer service at interscience.wiley.com/support.

Wiley InterScience now includes Blackwell Journals

Wiley InterScience now includes Blackwell journals

Dear Customer,

We are pleased to report that 1.6 million articles from Blackwell
journals were successfully loaded onto Wiley InterScience over the
weekend and the site went live again this Monday morning.

=================================
=================================

Blackwell journal content has been
incorporated into Wiley InterScience.

Wiley InterScience now features more than:

* 1400 journals
(3 million articles)
* 6000 online books
* 90 reference works
* 12 databases
* 15 Current Protocols
=================================================================

To view the full list of Wiley-Blackwell journals go to
www.interscience.wiley.com. You will see here several new subject
areas which we have added to now reflect the full depth and range of
the Wiley-Blackwell list. Wiley InterScience now includes 1400
journals, 6000 online books, 830 journals with backfiles back to
volume 1, and 90 online reference works spanning the disciplines, from
anthropology to astronomy, Zizek studies to zoonoses. In addition it
includes 12 databases in chemistry and evidence based medicine as well
as 10,000 laboratory protocols for the life sciences. Blackwell
Reference Online, the Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology and the
International Communications Encyclopedia continue to be hosted on a
separate site: www.blackwellreference.com.

Please note that there is still some missing content from Blackwell
which we are working through. This includes some issues, articles,
parts of articles (e.g. article loaded in xml but not in PDF) plus
some missing metadata and articles which need to be fixed due to
special character rendering issues. The full list of missing content
which we are working through is listed on our transition site here:
interscience.wiley.com/transition. Updates will be posted here as
items are resolved.

We have redirected most links to their nearest equivalent on Wiley
InterScience. However, we are still working on the OpenURL links to
ensure they resolve direct to the appropriate journal rather than the
main homepage. We will have this in place within a few days.

We have migrated the majority of customer license terms and access
rights from Synergy to InterScience successfully. However, if you do
experience any problems with your access or have any queries, please
contact our Customer Support team who are offering round-the-clock,
round-the-world customer service during this transition period:
interscience.wiley.com/support. You will also see here a Self-Help
service with answers to many frequently asked questions.

If you are not familiar with Wiley InterScience then please use our
online tutorials or sign up for a free online webinar here:
interscience.wiley.com/tutorials.

Thank you to all our customers for your support for Blackwell Synergy
over the last 10 years. You helped to build the site into one which
has been enormously popular with a large international user community
resulting in more than 20 million user sessions and over 8 million PDF
article downloads per month this year. Work is well underway on the
new Wiley-Blackwell online platform which will include many of the
popular features of Synergy as well as InterScience and which we will
be launching in early 2009. More information about this new service
will be provided to you in due course.
