EBSCO Historical Abstracts and America: History & Life

As a follow-up to our September 20, 2007 announcement, the transition of America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts to the EBSCOhost interface will be completed on June 30, 2008. This means that all access to these databases will be supported only via EBSCOhost. If you are still using these databases via the ABC-CLIO platform, please begin to familiarize yourself and your end-users with EBSCOhost access as soon as possible.

We also plan to transition access to EBSCO Publishing's XML Web Service as of June 30, for federated search engine users. If you access America: History & Life and/or Historical Abstracts via federated search engines such as Innovative Interfaces, MetaLib, MuseGlobal, Serial Solutions, or WebFeat, note that EBSCO Publishing will be working with these vendors to establish connectors to EBSCO Publishing's XML Web Service. To ensure that your access to the databases will continue, and that your account is set up with the new connectors, please contact your federated search vendor directly.

In the event that you have developed independent "meta-search" solutions, please see our XML Web Service overview (http://supportforms.epnet.com/eit/webservice). EBSCO's Technical Support department is available to help you create the profile customization necessary to connect to these databases via EBSCO Publishing's XML Web Service.

Please visit EBSCO's Support Site (http://support.ebsco.com) to learn about all of EBSCO's products, search among thousands of FAQs, download Flash tutorials, Help Sheets or User Guides, or communicate with EBSCO's Technical Support Representatives online, via EBSCO's Support Form, or by telephone:
