Issues with Emerald Insight

This is an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT regarding the launch of Emerald’s new
web site for product and service delivery.

+ Issues with Emerald Insight

Since we launched the new Emerald website a few issues regarding
performance and authentication on the site have come to light. We are
working on resolving these problems as a matter of urgency. The issues are
explained below:

+ Athens
We are aware that Athens authentication on the new site has not been
working correctly. We believe that this bug has now been fixed but if
anyone at your institution is still experiencing problems please email us
at mailto:support@emeraldinsight.com.

+ Browse
We found that the browse form was causing the speed of the website to slow
down considerably. We have now removed the browse form until the issues
are resolved. We expect this to be resolved in the next 2 to 4 weeks. In
the meantime, browse functionality is available from the old website at
http://old.emeraldinsight.com.

+ Authentication
We are also working to resolve some performance issues with our
authentication code. In the meantime, once your users have been
authenticated, they will be able to access all of our content, regardless
of the products your institution actually subscribes to.

+ Usage Statistics
We are in the process of migrating all the usage data from the old site
onto Insight. This cannot be completed until after all users have ceased
to use the old service. Until usage statistics are functioning on the new
site, you may continue to access reports for your institution via:
http://old.emeraldinsight.com/stats

+ Linking
Although we have done our utmost to ensure that URLs that worked on the
old service will continue to work on the new service, this has not been
possible for all cases. We have found that some customers have been using
links that we did not promote as being persistent. Please see
http://www.emeraldinsight.com/librariantoolkit for more information about
supported URLS for linking to Emerald’s products and services.

+ General speed
Initially there were some problems with slow performance of the new
website but we have taken steps to correct this and believe that the
service is performing well. If you do experience problems with slow
access, please contact mailto:support@emeraldinsight.com with as much
detail as you can provide.
