Portico Agreement with MIT Press

Portico is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with the MIT Press to preserve its entire online journals collection of 33 titles. The MIT Press is one of the largest American university presses in terms of number of books and journals published and overall sales. The MIT Press Journals Division publishes in many subject areas, including the arts and humanities, social sciences, and certain areas of science and technology.

Through this agreement with Portico, the MIT Press ensures that its online journal collection will be preserved and available for future scholars, researchers and students. MIT Press has also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico and has designated the Archive as an official delivery platform for post-cancellation access claims.

With the inclusion of the MIT Press publications, over 7,300 titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive. The complete list of titles is available at http://www.portico.org/about/committed_titles_alpha.html and a list of participating publishers is available at http://www.portico.org/about/part_publishers.html.
