Safari Back Office 3

ProQuest is pleased to announce the release of Safari Back Office 3. The new Back Office will be available on May 1, 2006. Customers will automatically be directed to the new interface through existing URLs.

The new Back Office makes it easier for Account Administrators to manage their account more efficiently. The release includes the following enhancements:
  • A streamlined look and feel
  • Updated Report Runner - The reporting system has been upgraded to make it easier to use and returns reports faster than the previous Back Office
  • Updated MARC Record download area - Along with revising the way we create MARC Records, Safari and ProQuest make it easier to retrieve MARC Records for the titles in your collection
A new Safari Guide has been created to highlight these exciting new changes. The guide walks users through how to run the most popular reports in the new Report Runner system as well as how to download MARC Records.

We hope you find the new interface easier to use and thank you for continuing to support ProQuest and the products we provide.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the support team at: 1-800-889-3358 or email tsupport@il.proquest.com.

RLG's ArchiveGrid

Since the release of ArchiveGrid, the response to RLG has been overwhelming: in March alone close to 200,000 visitors came to the site, dozens of institutions asked to become contributors, and more than 1,000 websites linked to ArchiveGrid -- and these numbers are growing every day.

Use ArchiveGrid free now through May 31, and let us know what you think: www.archivegrid.org

We have received an enormous amount of positive feedback from faculty, library and archives staff, and genealogists -- many thanking us for making this site available. To read what the press has to say about it, see "ArchiveGrid in the News" at http://www.rlg.org/en/page.php?Page_ID=20909

RLG received funding to make ArchiveGrid available for three months but continued free access has not been guaranteed; therefore, we are making plans to provide institutional and individual subscriptions.

Ulrich's Serials Analysis System Enhancement Update

CSA is pleased to announce new features and functionality that provide more serials-access information for a library's staff and users. Each of these new features is included for all Ulrichsweb.com accounts, effective immediately:
- Searchable Tables of Contents for More than 24,000 Essential Journals - Copyright Clearance Center Permissions Direct linking - Expanded Product Training Program
Enhanced Tables of Contents
Ulrichsweb.com now provides users with searchable tables of contents for more than 24,000 of the world's leading academic and scholarly journals, including the top requested titles from the British Library Document Supply Centre. This enhancement makes it possible for librarians, faculty, and students to get an in-depth look at a current issue's tables of contents, or to search the tables of contents of issues as far back as 1993, where available. Simply click the Table of Contents link on the Basic Description tab of an Ulrich's record to view table of contents details. Results may be printed or emailed as individual article citations.
Copyright Clearance Center Permissions Direct linking
Ulrichsweb.com now helps librarians and staff quickly and easily clear copyright permissions through the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) as they search for bibliographic information about journals and other serials. Subscribers with Copyright Clearance Center Permissions Direct accounts can simply select the "Get Permissions" link on the Advertising, Rights & Demographics tab of an Ulrich's record to be automatically directed to the appropriate permission services and search results pages on copyright.com. There is no need to re-enter information or conduct another title search in order to connect.Ulrichsweb.com users who do not utilize Copyright Clearance Center services can still learn which titles are covered, by selecting "CCC" from the Features & Attributes index in either Advanced Search mode or Browse.
Expanded Product Training Program
Complimentary product training is now available to all Ulrichsweb.com subscribers through the CSA Customer Education & Training Program.
