News About Your Gale Literature Products

As a very important Gale customer, we want you to have up-to-the-minute information about enhancements we are making to Gale’s literature databases.

As you have heard, we are providing our customers with a new online literature experience. The first of its kind, this platform will allow you and your patrons to search seamlessly across your Gale literature online resources, as well as across the Gale Virtual Reference Library e-book platform.

Because of Gale’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality products, we have rescheduled the release of the new cross-searchable literature platform, which was originally slated to release this month. Under our revised timeline, three of Gale’s online literature resources – Literature Resource Center, LitFinder and Modern Language Association International Bibliography – will be moved into the cross-search environment by November 15, 2007, with remaining literature products scheduled to migrate by the end of 2007. Because this transition will be a “soft cut-over,” you can migrate to the new platform when it is convenient for you, with your Gale account representative assisting you.

Here are a few of the platform enhancements you can look forward to:
* Integrated cross-searching across the broad range of Gale literature content: criticism, reviews, biographies, overviews, literary works and eReferences
* Easy-to-navigate new interface guides end-users to the material they need quickly and intuitively
* Enhanced results pages make accessing content even easier, with multiple filtering and sorting options
* New subject indexing greatly improves the accuracy of results
* “How to Cite” feature with support for citation export tools

Additionally, if you would like to learn more about these migrations or to schedule online product training, please consider attending a Gale-hosted Webinar. You can register for a Webinar at http://www.uptilt.com/ct.html?rtr=on&s=4rs,ur82,26l9,cylb,1lyc,d65k,8u7k

Ebrary we will be removing approximately 2,000 Taylor & Francis titles published between 2001 and 2005 in our subscription databases (with the exception of our Business & Economics collection) on October 2.
They are replacing the Taylor & Francis titles with more than 2,500 eBooks from scholarly publishers such as Oxford University Press, Yale University Press, MIT Press, University of Minnesota Press, Palgrave Macmillan, University of California Press, University of Texas Press, and Guilford Press.
