CSA Announces Enhancements to the Ulrich's Product Line

CSA is pleased to announce the immediate release of the following enhancements to the Ulrich’s suite of products.
Ulrichsweb.com – Identify Serials that are available via RSS Feed!
The new “RSS Available” Advanced Search limiter makes it possible for users to identify the growing number of periodicals that are providing headlines, recent issues or other content via RSS (Really Simple Syndication). An RSS feed provides content via XML files that are then read by an RSS reader or web browser. CSA is adding RSS availability data to thousands of individual Ulrich’s records so that users can learn about the various frequencies, formats, and providers of these content-delivery feeds. Ulrich’s records also display the URL of the RSS feed(s) for the periodical. Users may create their own lists of RSS feed URLs in Ulrichsweb.com, click on the URL to link to the RSS feed, or cut and paste the URL into their preferred RSS reader.
Ulrich’s Serials Analysis System – New online Tutorials!
Four new tutorials covering key features of Ulrich’s Serials Analysis System have been added to the CSA Customer Training & Education offerings: Getting Started; Your Library Reports; Comparison & Overlap Analysis Reports; and Aggregator Comparison Reports. The tutorials run using Adobe Flash Player and last approximately three minutes each. In addition to narration, each tutorial contains subtitles that may be turned on/off. Whether you are a current subscriber or just interested in learning more about the powerful set of serials evaluation tools that Ulrich’s Serials Analysis System provides, you can access the tutorials at http://www.csa.com/e_products/tutorial.php.
Ulrich’s Resource Linker – More language options and Google Scholar links!
Customers of CSA’s hosted OpenURL link resolver now have the ability to select from among a growing number of language options for the A-to-Z list interface. The current list of language options includes Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, English (US), English (UK), French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Taiwanese with more soon to follow. Also new in Ulrich’s Resource Linker is the ability for customers using the Mozilla Firefox web browser to display their library’s e-holdings in Google Scholar results. This added functionality allows students and others who search Google Scholar or the Google News Archive to link from results to full-text in the resources to which the library has full-text access.
